So Kenpo is definitely my favorite P90x workout.  It’s fun, practical and gets some much needed cardio.  It also gives me a little release of my aggression in a healthy way, which is always a plus haha

For those who haven’t done P90x, think defense training.  You do a series of punches, a series of kicks, a series of blocks, and then a mixture of each.  It’s a high-paced workout that keeps building on what you just did and the hour FLIES by.  It’s definitely a full body workout which is another huge plus.  I love the change of pace and glad we do it on Saturday’s, as it’s easier to give up an hour on my day off to do a fun workout.  (If it was Yoga, I might have a problem lol).

And guess what?  I’m a month down!  4 weeks straight. Tomorrow is rest/stretch and I’ll probably do a light workout, but I’m pretty excited.  I’m really glad I added the extra week of phase one.  I think it’s really helped.  I made really good strides this past week and I’m actually sore like I was the first week.

I think I’m finally to the point where I can fully get everything out of the workouts.  A month ago, I was so out of shape I couldn’t do more than 5 “real” push-ups.  This week, I did 50+ on Monday (as well as another 75+ on my knees).

Yesterday while sitting on the floor with my feet out, I can reach down and grab both feet.  Not just touch them… Grab them.  I can’t remember a time I could do that, even when I was playing football 12+ years ago.  I never worked on flexibility.  Now I have the opportunity to work on it daily.

So now I come to the “Recovery Week” where I get to work on my core strength, balance, and flexibility and cardio for a full week.  The goal for P90x is to go 90 days…  I’m 1/3 of the way there.  With the added week in phase one, I’ve still got a week before I’m officially 1/3 of the way through, but for now, I’ll celebrate this milestone and continue to plow away towards my ultimate goals.
