Day 41: Yoga X
So as promised, I made up for my Thursday by doing Yoga X today. I wasn’t overly flexible today, I think mostly because of the hard lifting in the triceps/biceps… But I think this is what was needed. I think that’s always the theme of my Yoga posts… Hard to do, but what the dr. orders!
The first 30 minutes today was by far the best I’ve done Yoga X. I am working hard on my transitions between poses and on the Venasas (I have NO idea how to spell this… Neither does spell check apparently). I worked hard on doing every downward and upward dog (even if I had to do cobra for some)… I also worked on transitioning from downward dog to runners pose.
It’s amazing thinking back to the first day… I remember laying down after about the first 3 moves. I couldn’t do a downward dog for more than 10 seconds and could hardly stay in plank for more than a few seconds. I don’t think I did a single warrior pose, rather Evan just told me to just stay in plank as long as you can, move do downward dog, then go to childs pose… Now 6 short weeks later, I’m getting through most of the poses CORRECTLY! The only things I still can’t do are some of the twists (Kyle has a little too much chunk haha) and some of the flexibility poses.
Off the to airport to pick up Evan… Hopefully he didn’t hit the buffet too much on the cruise or I’m going to kick his butt this week!
